- To recap the last few hours: missouri was a pit. Kansas is gorgeous. I’m driving. #

- Ah camping. There is no light pollution & the stars are fantastic. #
- Camp bathrooms are insect horrorshow. One thousand frantic beetles fighting in the sink. #

- Also: the ridges here are studded with windmills. Strangely beautiful, especially at night, when their red lights blink in unison. #
- The bland part of kansas. Flat and straight forever. #

- I can just see the tips of the rockies through a torn veil of perfect cumulus clouds. Beautiful. #
- I just saw a motorcycle covered completely in animal pelts. Shark jaws around the headlight, cougar head on the handlebars. #
- I want to live in these mountains. So wonderful. #
- Camping at mesa verde. Excellent evening: grilled, sat around looking at the surrounding ring of mountains. #
- In other news, an infant is wailing one tent over. #
- Now we are being treated to a shadow puppet show on the side of their tent. “A diaper change, act 1″ #
- The diaper puppet from last night is now running around eating a biscuit and being generally cute. Keeps pointing to the top of the mesa. #
- Spent all morning enjoying mesa verde. Drove around the top. Wish i had time to hike. #
- Tried going to the four corners. Had to pay, so forget that. Our brief stint in new mexico was lame. #
- Also: walked around in the desert looking for rattle snakes for @documentingme. No such luck, but the desert was gorgeous. #
